True Blood: Season 3
Posted by: | CommentsTrue blood may have wrapped up its second season but it left us with enough questions to ponder on until the show returns for season 3. Who took Bill? What is Sookie? Will Sam finally meet his real parents? What will happen to Jessica and Hoyt? We won’t know for sure until True Blood returns next fall. It’s going to be a long wait, seven excruciating months to be exact but, luckily, I’ve stumbled upon some spoilers to pass the time.
Take note, however, that some of these spoilers are not confirmed by the network so read at your own risk.
The Characters:
Sookie
She’s not entirely human that’s for sure. Series creator Alan Ball won’t tell exactly what she is but assures fans that it will be revealed next season. “Sookie has a stronger genetic predisposition in another direction. People who have read the books know exactly what I’m talking about. People who haven’t, it will be revealed,” Ball explained. Based on the books, however, Sookie is a fairy.
Eric
The Viking vamp was missing for the most part of the second season finale but Alan Ball tells Entertainment Weekly there’s a reason why and assures fans that Eric will be a prominent character in season 3. And once he resurfaces, he’ll be making lots of sexy time with tremendously hot and bold Yvetta, Fangtasia’s new Czechoslovakian dancer.
Tara
Tara hasn’t been so lucky when it comes to the matters of the heart. This season, however, she’s getting her very own vampire buddy in the form of Franklin Mott, who is described as very very sexy and over-protective. But she’s not the only one on cloud nine because as it turns out, her ever-distraught mom turns to the church for comfort and “maybe a little more” in the form of honorable Reverend Daniels.
Jason
Jason will find himself in an embarrassing situation when two NYU girls, Jen and Missy, try to get him into the sack.
Lafayette
We will be seeing more and more of Lafayette in season 3 as he gets vulnerable not just because he’s afraid of Eric. He also gets a boyfriend!
Andy
He’ll find out that he is related to somebody and it will totally shock him when he discovers who it is.
Godrick
The vampire may have committed suicide by sunlight but he may still appear in the coming season in flashback scenes with Eric.
Queen Sophie-Anne
Queen Sophie-Anne may not have come across scary when she was first introduced in the second season but Ball says she will be in season 3. “You don’t want to introduce a character you’re going to see later and blow your wad up front. All I can say is keep watching. It will make sense,” Ball explained of Queen Sophie-Anne who will return for the new season but not as a series regular.
Arlene
After a string of bad luck when it comes to love, it looks like Arlene is finally going to get her happy ending. Alan Ball reveals to TV Guide that she and current love interest Terry
“will make a surprising discovery that will bring them closer together.” In other words, expect another addition to the Fowler household!
Shocking Plots:
The Bombshell Secret
Ever since Queen Sophie-Anne graced the second season of True Blood, Bill and Sookie fans have been haunted with a theory from the Charlaine Harris books that would certainly destroy their favorite vampire-human couple: that Bill is working for the Queen and he came to Bon Temps to seduce Sookie with ulterior motives. It’s certainly an issue that would divide True Blood fans as this will push Sookie right into the arms of Eric, and while series creator Alan Ball hasn’t really followed the novels to the letter, he isn’t completely shutting out the idea either.
“It’s certainly something that I found really compelling in the books,” Ball told Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello of Bill’s deep dark secret. “I was like, ‘Wow.’ But I can’t really tell you what I’m going to do story-wise. So much of the appeal of the show depends on the element of surprise.”
”I try to stay out of how the fans are responding to the show,” he added. “I have to tell the story that I think is the most interesting story. Certainly, the main ingredient in drama is conflict and revelations. For every person who loves Bill and wants him and Sookie to just be in love always, there’s another person who’s like, ‘I’m sick of Bill. He’s such a wuss. I like Eric. He’s dangerous.’ Especially when you’re working on a show like this with the kind of palette and the colors you use; you want it to be continually surprising and shocking. Not for the sake of being shocking, but that’s part of the fun.”
Sookie and Eric, will they or won’t they?
Season 2 left fans with a cliffhanger that saw Bill being abducted just before Sookie was supposed to accept his marriage proposal. Now that Bill is seemingly and temporarily out of the picture, we are now left wondering if Eric and Sookie will finally get together in season 3. But Ball tells TV Squad, “I can’t tell you if they’re going to get together, because that’s going to ruin the anticipation. But, if you’ve been following season two, he’s definitely been doing things to make her more vulnerable and more susceptible to him. And he does want her, he’s just not sure why. I think it’s deeper than just, ‘I want her because Bill Compton has her.’ Although that’s part of it, because Eric is a total alpha-dog.”
‘True Blood’ Casting Bill’s First Wife
Posted by: | CommentsA vintage-looking woman is sought to fill in the role of Bill Compton’s first wife on “True Blood“. The HBO show will bring back the image of Bill’s family before he was sent to the Civil War and turned as a vampire on his way back home by a vampire woman he was getting food from.

In the casting news for Caroline Compton, it is specified that the character lives in 1866 as a “lovely, very strong, brave, well-bred and well-spoken Southern woman”. Said to be a “great scene”, the role involves Caroline pulling a shotgun on the intruder into her house, clearly prepared to use it, till she realizes it’s her husband Bill, whom she was sure had died in the War.
One particular requirement for the actress auditioning for Caroline is to have a resemblance to the woman in the attached photo. It means, Caroline should be brunette, pale and rather slim. The show will have the story about her on the third episode of the third season. Based on the information acquired by Spoiler TV, the filming will begin on December 3.
“True Blood” had been exposing little spoilers for the anticipated third season through its casting calls. Among the new characters to be introduced are Sam’s younger brother, new vampires Franklin Mott, King of Mississipi and Talbot, villains F*ck You Crew and a gay Latino.
The new season starts airing in June 2010, creator Alan Ball has confirmed during Paley Center for Media last month.
True Blood – 12 Big-Ass Spoilers for Season 3
Posted by: | CommentsBill won’t be back for a while.
Ball confirmed that the arc of Bill’s kidnapping will last “about six episodes.” That sounds like just enough time to put Sookie (Anna Paquin) through the wringer, but not enough to try viewers’ patience. Plus, we’ll probably still get to see Bill deal with his captors in episodes 1-5.
Meet the Merlottes.
Shape-shifter Sam (Sam Trammell) will find his family this year, and Tucker gets to write their characters a lot in episode two. “I’m getting to write Sam’s family, which is a lot of fun, and, really, I feel really satisfying as a character arc,” she said. “I really am glad that he’s taking this journey and he’s learning about himself. I find that interesting. They aren’t the brightest people, maybe. At least they appear that way. They’re fairly dysfunctional, but like anybody else, they have their good things about them and not-so-good things. They’re still getting to know each other. Sam’s still getting to know them, and so are we.”
Werewolves sink their teeth into Louisiana.
Werewolves are coming to True Blood, and Ball offered a preview of what his wolf-people will look like. “They’re just wolves,” Ball said. “It’s just people who can turn into wolves, but they’re slightly bigger and much stronger. Their eyes glow orange a little bit.”
There’s even more supernatural stuff.
It’s not just vampires and werewolves. Woo is most excited about the expanding world of season three. “The entire world is going to get a lot bigger,” Woo said. “Not only the human world, but in Sookie’s eyes, she’s going to see the whole supernatural world. Luckily, since this show is through Sookie’s eyes, as an audience we’ll get to see a much larger supernatural world.”
Sookie will explore her own powers.
Sookie’s powers have gone from simple telepathy to some kind of hand-glowing power. Tucker confirmed that Sookie’s powers continue to expand in season three. “I think that Sookie is conscious of her abilities more this season than she’s been, and she’s questioning them more,” Tucker said. “We’re going to be exploring that more this season.”
Meet the Vampire King.
Ball said the Vampire King of Mississippi is coming in season three. He provides a contrast to Sophie-Anne, the Vampire Queen of Louisiana (Evan Rachel Wood). “He’s older,” Ball said. “He’s much more mature. He’s much more methodical and grounded. She’s kind of crazy. To me, she’s kind of like Paris Hilton/Lindsay Lohan, where she has a very short attention span and she’s very, very egomaniacal and very self-obsessed and doesn’t really think about her actions, whereas the Vampire King is very much an adult. He has an agenda. He has things he wants to achieve. I think he’s much more formidable than she is.”
Jason will stay out of trouble.
In two seasons, Sookie’s brother, Jason (Ryan Kwanten), has been accused of murder and got caught up in a cult. Season three will find him keeping a low profile. “I think Jason’s path this season is actually about not getting into trouble,” Tucker said. “It’s about trying to stay out of trouble. I think it’s going well for him.”
Sophie-Anne might get into more trouble.
Wood is signed to return for more episodes in season three. Since her recreational activities include orchestrating the sale of vampire blood, things could go very badly for her. “Well, Sophie Anne, when last we left her, she was sort of behind this selling of V as a recreational drug on the streets, pretty much,” Ball said. “That’s not something a vampire authority figure should be doing. If higher-up vampire authority figures figure that out, they’re not going to be happy.”
There’s a new biker gang in town.
Season three will introduce a biker gang called Coot’s F–k You Crew. Tucker said the new characters are still evolving and won’t be what you expect. “The one thing I will say is that they are very mysterious,” Tucker said. “They’re a group who’s been around a lot longer than you think. I don’t want to say too much about them right now, because I think that we are in the early stages of figuring that out.”
A new character called Tommy Mickens brings the hurt.
Woo is writing the new character of Tommy Mickens, who will make a huge impact on our favorite characters. “Tommy Mickens is someone I don’t want to reveal too much about, because I don’t want to ruin the surprise,” Woo said. “He’s a completely new character, but he plays very prominently in the emotional life of at first one and then, later, several other of our characters. He’ll be the first domino to push the rest.”
Headgear plays a major role.
Helmets have become a joke in the writer’s room. Tucker explained how the writers became aware they were relying too much on protective headgear. “There’ve been several moments that we’ve been pitching things and thought, ‘Oh, well, maybe she could be wearing a helmet, and that would protect her. Maybe he could wear a helmet in that scene,’” Tucker recalled. “Suddenly we realized we had a whole bunch of characters wearing helmets for no particular reason. So we thought, oh, that’s the theme of the season.”
Sorry, ladies, Eric is still a tease.
Fans keep demanding more screen time for Eric (Alexander Skarsgard), but the writers won’t indulge them. “You know, what’s funny is that he’s in the first two books; he’s a fairly minor character in Sookie’s universe,” Tucker said. “There’s a lot of fan pressure that they’re supposed to be this big romantic thing, which actually in Charlaine [Harris]’s books doesn’t happen until much, much further down. I think if we did that, we’d probably bore them all to death. I think part of the magic of Eric is some of the mystery of Eric and the inaccessibility of Eric. I think you don’t want to turn them into the nice romantic love interest who’s in every scene. I think his danger is important, so not just throwing him up whenever somebody wants to see his bare chest is actually a more disciplined approach.”

True Blood – Alan Ball interview
Posted by: | CommentsBon Temps is going to be very crowded for True Blood’s third season, what with all the new vampires walking around. Executive producer Alan Ball, and several of True Blood’s writers and producers, sat down with fans of the show Wednesday at the Paley Center for Media to discuss the new residents of Bon Temps, Bill and Sookie’s future and a naked Alexander Skårsgard.
So where does the action pick up at the beginning of Season 3? “I believe [Eric] appears without most of his clothes in the very first episode,” jokes Ball. (But seriously, he says, fans of Eric’s amnesia story line from the books will have to wait until Season 4.)
“Sookie [Anna Paquin] is going to go off in search of Bill [Stephen Moyer], and she will find him,” Ball tells TVGuide.com. But Sookie is in search of much more than just Bill. “There will be more conjecture about what she is and she will be more driven to discover what she is,” said Ball. “She will get closer to the answer.”
Will her brother Jason (Ryan Kwanten) help her? Not likely, as Ball explains that he doesn’t share his sister’s magical gifts. “It’s a DNA thing, it’s a genetic thing and skips some people and gets in some others,” he says. “Jason has vestiges of it, in that he’s such a fantastic athlete and he’s a perfect shot, but he’s still human, whereas Sookie is definitely a half-human, half-something else that we’re waiting to reveal.”
Good news for Bill fans: He won’t be going away for an extended period of time, as he does in Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse novels. Ball reports that the TV series won’t be telling the same story. “Stephen Moyer will not be marginalized. Bill and Sookie may go through some rough patches that last maybe a little longer than Team Bill fans might like, but Bill and Sookie have a connection that will never die.”
So what about Bill’s big secret, that he only went to Bon Temps and became close to Sookie on the orders of Queen Sophie-Anne? Will that ever be revealed? Ball says yes. “I can’t say when it will be discovered, but it definitely will be,” he says. “We are definitely aware of that as we’re breaking the stories, and have been from the beginning of the show.”
Ball says that marital bliss is not in the cards for Sookie and Bill. “There is somebody who wants a wedding, but it’s not who you think it is,” teases Ball. “I don’t think you’ll see that wedding actually happen.”
What you will see is another human-vampire romance, when Tara meets the still-to-be-cast Franklin Mott. Their relationship will be unlike any other on the show. “I don’t even think they’re in the same ballpark,” producer Raelle Tucker tells us. “He’s more dangerous than any of those other [vampires]. She’s definitely playing with something that’s a lot more deadly.”
And Mott won’t be alone. “You’ll find a range of vampires,” supervising producer Alexander Woo says. “The vampire world really opens up. You’ll see that there’s as much of a variety and diversity among vampires as there is among human beings. There’s going to be extremely cruel and extremely kind. I think you’ll see there isn’t one archetype; there is a panorama.”

‘True Blood’ Spoilers: June Premiere, Naked Eric and More
Posted by: | CommentsIt has just been confirmed at the Paley Center for Media that “True Blood” will be back for the third season in June 2010, the same time frame when season 2 debuted. During the panel held in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 28, creator Alan Ball and other writers such as Raelle Tucker and Alexander Woo came out with a lot of spoilers for the new season.

First thing first, Ball answered the question about season 2’s cliffhanger where Bill was abducted by an unknown person. Ball spilled that fans need not wait long because it will be revealed immediately in the first episode. Another juicy spoiler would be shirtless Eric. “Alexander Skarsgard appears without most of his clothes in the very first episode of season 3,” Ball revealed.
On which characters will strut back, Ball said, “There are a big boatload of new characters in season. Even the Newlins may appear again.” He also confirmed that Evan Rachel Wood will return as Queen of Louisiana, something which the audience at the panel were not too excited about. Pam and Nan Flagan will also show up. Interestingly, one dead character which will be resurrected in the form of flashback would be Godric.
Regarding the fate of Sookie, Ball said, “There will be more conjecture about what she is and she will be more driven to discover what she is.” In fact the theme for the third season would be “Identity”. Her relationship with Bill may not be a smooth ride in season 3 but they “have a connection that will not die.”
The third season is based on Charlaine Harris’ third book “Club Dead“. Ball said that he has a responsibility to stay true to the book but then there would be no surprises.
‘True Blood’ Casting New Vampires and Sam’s Brother
Posted by: | CommentsThe third season of “True Blood” has begun casting new characters who will either be a regular, a recurring or a guest. Calls are made for the actors to fill in the roles as a new vampire, Sam’s brother, and a gang crew who will play a part in torturing Bill.

The new vampire would be Franklin Mott who is in Charlaine Harris’ third book “Club Dead”. Unlike in the book version, the show is looking forward to present Mott as a “sexy” 25 to mid 40s character instead of an early 60s man. Mott has a lot of scenes with Tara because he has “an immediate and torrid connection” to her after meeting at a local bar.
Sam’s quest to find his real family will be enhanced with his younger brother’s presence. Tommy Mickens is a dirty but good looking youngster who works at a Tire Depot in Arkansas. He tends to hide his identity because his family has been owing money all over town. He is unaware who Sam is. Both Mott and Mickens are slated to be regulars.
The new villains will be the F*ck You Crew. Cooter is a ringleader of the biker thugs who love the taste of V. Together with the other three bikers Louie, Gus and Jimmy, Coot stabs Bill for his blood. These people may as well be the kidnappers of Bill in the season 2 cliffhanger.
Other characters are “intensely beautiful” vampire named Talbot, a gay attractive Latino named Jesus Velasquez, young NYU grads seducing Jason for threesome, Eric’s new dancer at Fangtasia, Reverend Daniels, an elderly woman named Olivia and African American couple Betty and Marvin.
“True Blood” will be back for the third season in summer 2010. While the characters above have not found the actors, King of Mississipi has had Denis O’Hare to portray him.
What’s True Blood Star Alexander Skarsgard’s Type?
Posted by: | Comments
When it comes to finding love, True Blood’s vampire hunk Alexander Skarsgard is looking for a woman with brains – not fangs! – who likes to laugh.
“A sense of humor is number one for sure,” Skarsgard told PEOPLE at the Gucci Icon-Temporary Flash Sneaker store opening in New York City. “Being funny and smart is very important.”
Known as the sexiest man alive in his native Sweden, the single actor, 33, is turning heads and causing blood pressures to rise with fans everywhere thanks to his brooding True Blood ego and charming good looks. “It’s very flattering,” he said of the swooning. “I turn a little pink!”
Though Skarsgard, who’s been shooting the film Straw Dogs in Shreveport, La., for the past three months, has been linked romantically to costar Kate Bosworth, the sexy vampire has experienced fervent fan encounters that have ranged from sultry to slightly uncomfortable.
“I’ve gotten proposals and suggestions that are slightly inappropriate,” Skarsgard said with a laugh. “It’s odd but very flattering!”
While True Blood fans will have to wait until next year to see Skarsgard again as bad-boy vampire Eric Northman, the actor will start shooting season 3 of the hit HBO series next month, and says he’s eagerly looking forward to catching up with costars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, who announced that they were engaged to be married in August.
“They are some of my best friends back in L.A.,” said Skarsgard of the couple. “The cast and the crew is amazing and I can’t wait to get started again. I really look forward to it and I miss them a lot.”
Who Will Die on True Blood?
Posted by: | CommentsTrue Blood creator Alan Ball has a message for fans awaiting the third season of his hit show:
Someone… will… die!

“Somebody is going to bite the dust and it’s going to be really good to see them get what they deserve,” Ball told TVGuide.com.
Ball added that “it’s a person we’ll be happy to see go,” leading us to guess the victim will be Pam, Eric’s mean-spirited second hand.
Renewed for at least one more season, True Blood returns in the summer of 2010.

True Blood: Casting Werewolf Alcide and Psycho Ex-Girlfriend
Posted by: | Comments
We’ve been hearing about a bunch of new characters coming on board for the third season of True Blood but so far, only Tony winner Denis O’Hare has been cast to play Russell Edgington, the King of Mississippi. Now Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello reports that casting is underway for Werewolf Alcide, who debuted in the third Sookie novel Club Dead and will be prominently appearing on the new season of the HBO series, and his psycho ex-girlfriend Debbie Pelt.
While the specifics about Werewolf Alcide have not been disclosed, the casting people behind True Blood have made it known that Debbie Pelt would be played by a 20 to 30 something knockout and is described as “sporty and spiteful, with black hair.”
Off the top of my head, I think that Shannyn Sossamon, Alyssa Milano, Sarah Brown or Milla Jovovich would be plausible fillers for the character of Debbie, whom True Blood creator Alan Ball describes as “bad news.” To refresh your memory, Sossamon is known for her role as Coraline on Moonlight, Milano appeared as Phoebe Halliwell on Charmed and most recently as Billie on My Name is Earl, Brown currently plays Claudia Zacchara on ABC soap General Hospital and Jovovich is popularly known as Alice in the Resident Evil movies.
Speaking of Sossamon, wouldn’t it be great if Alex O’Loughlin was cast as Werewolf Alcide? I highly doubt that he’ll be available though since he’s currently starring on the CBS medical drama Three Rivers. I guess a little Moonlight reunion is just wishful thinking so I shouldn’t even be hoping that Jason Dohring would get the part either.
What are your thoughts on Werewolf Alcide and Debbie Pelt? Do you have any suggestions on which actor to cast?
